LLM stance scores for French and Arabic newspapers on the Algerian question, compared across eight models including a fine-tuned Gemma 4 DPO endpoint. Scores run from 1 (strongly pro-colonial) to 5 (strongly anti-colonial).

Model benchmark — against human gold labels
Evaluated on 638 human-annotated articles. Metrics are computed on Algeria-relevant articles only (human score > 0). Gemma 4 DPO (fine-tuned) Gemma 4 Base
